Frameworks
Five tools. Five kinds of clarity.
Different questions need different kinds of clarity. Fundamental Academy uses five connected working disciplines to help leaders see the whole, set direction, make thinking visible, align priorities and create the conditions for innovation.

FOUNDATIONS · 01
Fundamental Pyramid®
See the whole before deciding what comes next.
The Fundamental Pyramid® creates a practical whole-enterprise perspective: a way to work on the business, not only in it. It helps a leadership group see the patterns in its foundations, make strengths and gaps visible, and focus its attention before scaling, shifting or investing further.
It gives people a shared structure and language for better leadership conversations—less about the next urgent activity, more about what the organisation is truly ready to do next.
- Organisational
- The internal foundations of the organisation.
- Operational
- Leadership, capability and delivery.
- Market
- How the organisation reaches and serves its market.

COMMUNICATION · 02
Fundamental Storyboarding®
Make complex thinking visible enough to work on together.
Fundamental Storyboarding® gives people a shared visual canvas for strategy and other complex work. Options, trade-offs, connections and gaps become easier to see when the thinking is visible in the room rather than hidden in a finished presentation or spreadsheet.
It combines logical structure, creative exploration and visual storytelling. Different modes of thinking can participate, and insight can move into a coherent sequence of action without the process becoming loose or unstructured.

DIRECTION · 03
Fundamental Discovery®
Align ambition with reality.
Fundamental Discovery® helps leadership teams define, refine and align around shared strategic direction while testing ambition against current reality. It brings disciplined strategic thinking into the room without reducing the work to a planning template.
The five connected modes make space for a fuller strategic conversation: seeing ahead, testing readiness, making choices, shaping the programme and considering performance. The point is not to follow a script; it is to bring more than one necessary angle to the direction being set.
The point is not to admire the framework.
The point is to be able to use it.

RHYTHM · 04
Fundamental Grid®
Make priorities visible. Give the business a rhythm.
The Fundamental Grid® makes priorities explicit—as actions, events, questions or checkpoints—so competing demands can be worked through rather than simply carried forward. It helps people, teams and partners coordinate around one visible view.
It is not a plan on a shelf. The Grid gives the business year a rhythm for planning, reviewing and adjusting, allowing strategy to remain present in continuing motion.
One working discipline, different contexts
Grid thinking can be carried across the work.
Marketing, Sales and Digital can each be held in a distinct but related view—making it easier to see priorities, timing and coordination without mistaking the examples for separate frameworks.

CONDITIONS · 05
Greenhouse Framework®
Make innovation something the organisation can actually do.
The Greenhouse Framework® closes the gap between ideas and execution. It creates a repeatable innovation rhythm that brings the right mix of people into practical exploration, opportunity selection and disciplined activation.
Innovation becomes visible and measurable through clear events, checkpoints and progress—not as a novelty, but as a structure that can increase organisational tempo while keeping the work energising.

The Academy system
Connected, not compulsory.
One question may call for one framework. A more complex situation may bring several together. The five methods belong to the same Academy system, but they are not a compulsory five-step sequence.
Start with the question
Start with the question, not the tool.
What needs to become clearer determines which framework — or combination of frameworks — is useful.
